Deadly Fire In Northampton County: Authorities

Authorities are investigating the origin of a deadly fire in Williams Township early on Monday, July 10.

First responders were called to the 1500 block of Raubsville Road around 8:20 a.m., Trooper Nathan Branosky said in a release. 

Inside the burning home, firefighters found the body of a 64-year-old man and a cat, state police wrote. His identity was not reported. 

The Criminal Investigations Unit of the state police Belfast Station is leading the probe, Branosky said. Also investigating are the Northampton County Coroner's Office, a state police forensics unit, and the Troop M Fire Marshal, he added. 

Williams Township, Lower Saucon, Palisades Regional, and Easton firefighters assisted at the scene, according to the release.
